Octopus vacuum gripping system
The OCTOPUS system is designed to meet the increasing demand for operational flexibility in palletising robots and vacuum gripping systems. It enables the handling of objects of various shapes and materials, provided they do not have excessive transpiration, without the need to place or replace vacuum cups, and performs effectively even when only 5% of the suction plate is covered. The load’s maximum weight is directly proportional to the gripping surface. The standard OCTOPUS system includes one or two compressed air-fed vacuum generators (to be ordered separately, except for item SO 15 20 MX), an anodised aluminium box open on one side with a built-in stainless steel micro-fine mesh filter for generator protection and easy inspection, and connections for control devices or solenoid valves to restore atmospheric pressure inside. It also features a suction plate, crafted from anodised aluminium, with equidistant calibrated holes coated in perforated foam rubber, which adapts to smooth, rough, or irregular surfaces. This versatile system can grip and handle items such as cardboard boxes alongside their supporting wooden pallets, demonstrating exceptional adaptability for diverse industrial applications.
